What is pink noise?
Pink noise is random sound whose energy falls by about 3 decibels per octave as the pitch rises. That makes it sound more even to human ears than white noise, which can feel bright and hissy. It is closer to steady rain, wind in leaves or a distant waterfall. It sits neatly between white noise and the deeper brown noise, which is why lots of people treat it as the "just right" option for sleep, reading and relaxing.
